Allies still life

Title Allies
Medium: Oil on 11 x 14 wood panel

This is the 2nd painting in a series of color studies working with colors close to each other on the color wheel.
Painting is ready to hang , no frame needed, price includes shipping and handling.

Well this week I think I have spent more time with auto mechanic then in my studio and it looks like I have to go back tomorrow, finding a good mechanic is turning out to be quite a challenge, would be nice if they would work for a painting or 2 instead of cash. Still did manage to finish this one, I think the title took longer then the painting.

Feel free to email me here if you want to chat or interested in buying this painting.

Riding the Wave

Title: Riding the waves - 11 x 14 on wood panel

This one is finally finished, took so long to get through this one. With this one I used a very soft bristle brush, this forced me to try and push the paint around a lot more than usual and blend a lot more also helped to keep me from getting to finicky with details. This is the first in a series of colour studies. I plan to do starting with an analogous colour scheme, I plan to work my way through the whole colour wheel.

Copper pot

Title: Copper Pot
Medium: Oil on 16 x 20 wood panel

Painting comes ready to hang and no frame is needed

I didn't change this too much from yesterdays version apart from a little tweaks here and there, apart from the suggestion from Kim one of my loyal followers and a great painter, to add some vertical brush strokes on the left side to fix the banding in the red background colour, made a huge difference and I didn't spot it. So thanks a bunch Kim.

The Royal Winter fair is on here in town, various animals on display, mostly farm animals, can't wait to go with my sketch pad and draw some animals, been so long Hope I remember how.

Copper pot thingy wip

So here is my latest work, not completed yet but coming along, you can click on the image for a larger view. Something is bothering me with this one but I can't quite put my finger on it at the moment maybe it will come to me but perhaps not so if you can figure it out let me know. Anyway the copper pot is turning out rather nice I think.

So last weekend I went to the opening of the Colour and Form Society Juried show where I have 2 pieces showing, they fit in rather well, so I am pleased, had quite a few compliments from the other artists and people that just came to view the show. The show runs until Nov. 26th so if you haven't been you still have time. The most important thing about this show is I will be given an invitation to join the Society, I will have to go through another juried process but at least this is the first stage complete.

Anyway, here is something I find weird, a 16 x 20 panel takes the same amount of time to paint then a 9 x 12 for me. I should be able to get back to this tomorrow so look for another update soon.
Cheers
Dave
